I’m a business designer

I’m a business designer

It’s been so long since the last day I published my thoughts on a subject related to my professional life.

I should probably use Medium instead of my WordPress platform.

Yep, that long…

For almost five years, I’ve been exploring the freelancer world. I’m still working as a marketing consultant, but I’ve decided to make my coming out about a side project I’m currently working on. It’s kind of scary and exciting at the same time. Maybe that’s how base jumpers feel at the edge of a cliff, I will never know….

Today, I decide to proclaim myself a business designer (I don’t have a boss to give me this title, so I will give it to myself).

Why business designer and not just stick to businesswoman?

Here’s the Merriam Webster definition for businesswoman:

  • a woman who works in business especially in a high position
  • a woman who is good at dealing with business and financial matters

The thing here is that I can’t be in the highest position because my startup doesn’t have a pyramid hierarchy. And I’m much more interested in envisioning the overall business culture than just more “bang for the buck” as described in the second definition. So, here’s my definition for a business designer:

  • a person who works within the “New Power” paradigm
  • a person who is good at creating a sustainable business and dealing with financial matters

My idea is still in the baby business incubator. But I decided to keep you posted with the ups and downs, successes, and even failures of its journey to the world. This is my first step.

Oh! I know, I haven’t said a word about my idea, but as I told you, I’ll keep you posted. For now, I’m just a business designer dreaming big for an ideal future.
